Ukrainian Soldier Gets Creative With RPG Firing Position

Published April 22, 2022

I wouldn't say it's the safest way to fire an RPG, but it sure is a creative way.

Recent footage coming from the battlefields in Ukraine, shows a Ukrainian soldier firing an RPG, dangerously from a ladder. Now, if you were to ask me... and ONLY me, this seems like propaganda, or maybe it's just guys having a good time firing some left over munitions.

After watching the video back several times, you'll notice the rifleman looks back to assure his partner is ready to engage. Maybe this is him getting ready to apply suppressive fire while he climbs? or maybe it's similar to the other staged videos we have seen where the cameraman yells "action!", and everything falls into place perfectly. Now, it would make sense that he is just covering his battle buddy, because after the RPG is fired, he does begin laying down small arms fire. But where is the returning fire from said target?

Another strange thing to note, why does one troop say "RPG" just moments before he fires? Is this some sort of call out, similar to "Back blast area clear" when we rip off AT-4's?

Listen, I could go on and on with the what ifs, but I'd rather get your insight on it instead. The only thing I care about in this video is the fact that our doggo here was scared for his life after rounds started flying. Let's hope he is safe.

Let us know what you think of this footage in the comments below. I enjoy reading everyone else's analysis and how they approach the dissection of combat footage.
