Action camera footage released by a Ukrainian Reconnaissance Soldier captures their unit being engaged by Russian forces after their patrol was compromised.

Prior to contrary belief, no reconnaissance unit ever wants to make contact with the enemy. Their job is to slip in behind enemy lines, gather actionable intelligence on the enemy, and then return without ever firing a single shot that didn't come through a DSLR camera lens. This video shows the opposite of that happening, as a Ukrainian reconnaissance team is contacted by Russian forces and pushed into a break contact situation.

At the :10 mark in this video, we can see one of the Ukrainian troops drop. This is the moment in which the Russians make contact with the Ukrainians. From that point forward the Ukrainians are dumping ammunition in the direction of Russian forces to gain fire superiority so they can enable their own retreat out of the area and back towards friendly lines.
