This footage, made available by the Ukrainian 3rd Assault Brigade, shows frenetic, close range infantry combat for Avdiivka through a night vision recording. Although the Russian troops are not seen directly, their flashlights (torches, for our non-American viewers) and other illumination sources are briefly visible.

While the 3rd Assault Brigade frequently releases footage of their operations, video of them operating at night is somewhat more rare. This video begins without any pretext or preamble, jumping right into the action as the 3AB element puts down a hellacious volume of fire. It then transitions to a clip of the Ukrainians engaging Russians at much closer ranges, firing more slowly at them as they try to flank the Ukrainians through buildings and doorways. It is in this portion of the video that Russian illumination systems can be seen, indicating how close the fight is.
