The wild thing about Ukraine is that we're getting near HD footage of what World War One probably looked like for a good stretch of the conflict. It's weird to think that with all of our modern weapons and advances in technology, warfare itself has reverted back to what it looked like in the early 1900s. Maybe it's the lack of new tactics that push us into permanently defensive positions. Maybe it's the new weapon systems being fielded by both sides causing a total reversion to trench warfare. I honestly can't tell you the answer.

What's truly sad however is the lack of attention being paid to both the loss-of-life and intense amount of money being thrown into the meat grinder that is the Eastern Front of Ukraine right now.
