Thermobaric Grenade Dropped On Russian Infantry

Ukrainian paratroopers of the 79th Air Assault Brigade released a compilation video featuring various successful strikes against Russian troops and equipment. One of the clips shows a thermobaric grenade, also known as a fuel air bomb or vacuum bomb, being dropped on top of exposed Russian soldiers in a trench.

Thermobaric munitions work by combusting all available oxygen within its blast radius, resulting in a very powerful and fiery concussive blast. Additionally, the weapon can even neutralize troops behind cover, sheltered from the shrapnel and fire, as it depletes the local oxygen. Such blasts result in collapsed lungs and other airway injuries for those near the detonation.
