The moment an unarmed woman was shot and killed by Capitol Police during a pro-Trump protest-turned riot was captured on video.

The woman has been identified as 14-year Air Force veteran Ashli Babbitt of San Diego. Babbitt reportedly served four tours of service. In the video a mass of people can be seen trying to break into a locked wing of the Capitol building. As the glass was smashed out of one of the windows, Babbitt attempted to climb through it but was immediately shot by one of the officers. The shot appears to have come from the chamber she was attempting to breach.

The violence at the Capitol came as the "Stop The Steal" movement came to protest the counting of the electoral ballots. The protestors claim the 2020 Presidential election was fraught with fraud and illegal voting procedures that resulted in a Biden win. Vice President Mike Pence accepted the electoral votes.
