Post is a simple activity. Regardless of what branch of service you were in, if you were in a ground combat element, or even tasked with a security detail, you know what post is. It's time in the box. Usually by yourself. Generally for six to eight hours. You have nothing but yourself, your sector of fire, and the occasional radio check from the Corporal of the Guard to keep you entertained.

When you think of War, you don't often think about the men and women who are standing post. Most of the greatest pieces of historical war footage comes from Marines and Soldiers out on patrol. Probably one of the only exceptions to this rule is the video of a Marine absolutely losing it on Rip Its trying to keep himself awake for the last hour or so of his post rotation.
