Video published to the Defense Visual Information Distribution Service shows members of the Texas National Guard conducting border control operations. These operations include patrolling portions of the border that are less guarded, and the apprehension of several illegal migrants who were hoping to cross the border through Texas.

The Soldier being interviewed in the video is Corporal George Sulaica, a team leader for Alpha Company in Task Force Center, Operation Lone Star. He describes routinely encountering sexual predators, gang members, drug smugglers, human traffickers, and arms traffickers at the Southern Border where they have been assisting Federal Border Patrol agents since August of 2023.

This video, which was part of a larger release by the Texas National Guard, was put together just shortly after the Texas National Guard removed Federal Border Patrol agents from their guard posts in Eagle Pass, Texas on the order of Texas Governor Greg Abbott. Some seem to think that this will spark in-fighting between Federal and State forces, but those individuals don't seem to comprehend that the Federal Border Patrol agents are dominantly comprised of locals from the areas they are policing that have been operating under a gag order from the Federal Government for a while now.

When contacted about the situation, Eagle Pass Border Patrol agents expressed happiness that the burden of manning the position was removed from their plate as it enables them to get to other trouble spots along their perimeter where they're unable to effectively patrol due to the need for agents at specific points of entry.
