Body-worn camera footage from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) shows a July 7, 2022 incident in which an officer successfully deployed a taser against a violent suspect, which instantly incapacitated the man who was believed to be on methamphetamine.

From the report, officers and paramedics were initially deployed to assist the man as a caller reported that he appeared to be the victim of a stabbing. As the police arrived it was discovered that the man in question had physically assaulted at least one person.

Police confronted the man and he became instantly aggressive toward them with clenched fists and closed the distance as if he was going to attack on of the officers. The closest officer deployed a taser, which sent the man down onto the pavement. The fall caused a laceration to the back of the suspect's head. He was taken into custody without further incident and was treated for his injuries.
