Video likely from the early stages of the Syrian war shows anti regime rebels employing an improvised medieval style catapult with some sort of flaming projectiles.

If the war in Syria has shown us anything, it's that future battles are going to look less like Starship Troopers and more like Mad Max. While this thermal/incendiary throwback weapon system surely demonstrates ingenuity, resourcefulness, and the will to fight, it isn't likely very effective when lobbed at concrete structures and steel vehicles.
