Ukrainian forces carried out a "surface drone" attack against the Russian Black Sea Fleet in a Sevastopol port on the annexed Crimean peninsula on April 24, 2023. The surface drones were likely remote controlled unmanned boat bombs.

According to Russian sources, they neutralized one of the surface drones and the other blew up on its own. They also claim that no damage was sustained in the attack, but a massive smoke plume shown in images circulating on social media suggest that a residual fire was started as a result of one of the blasts.

The targeted port is reportedly guarded by anti-USV wires and netting as well as AA systems. Based on the video and images, at least one of the Ukrainian devices was able to penetrate the defenses before detonating.
