Special Forces Soldier Drops Insurgent In Extreme Close Quarters Battle

A classic and iconic helmet cam video from Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) shows a US Special Forces soldier and his Afghan National Army (ANA) counterparts rapidly assaulting a Taliban-occupied hut.

Immediately upon entering the dwelling, they come face-to-face with the enemy, who is unarmed at the time. The spec ops soldier quickly ducks in to clear a room off to his left, and reenters the hallway just in time to see the insurgent has now armed himself with a rifle and fires at the coalition troops from extreme close range.

The ANA troops scramble out of the hut while the US operator dumps several suppressing rounds into the wall in the suspected direction of the armed Taliban fighter. The US soldier then demonstrates violence of action as he goes on the offensive and pies the corner of the doorway. He drops the Taliban fighter with multiple rounds from his carbine and then charges into the room to ensure the remaining insurgents surrender. He calls for medical personal to treat the wounded enemy fighter.
