Soldier Narrowly Dodges Incoming Hell Cannon Round

Footage from the Syrian War, likely filmed between 2014 and 2015, shows militants of the Nour al-Din al-Zenki Movement targeting a Syrian regime position with an improvised spigot mortar, commonly referred to as a "Hell Cannon."


A Syrian regime soldier can be seen diving for cover as the explosive round, fashioned from a propane tank, impacts and explodes with surprising accuracy inside the permitter of the outpost. The accuracy wasn't a fluke as demonstrated by a second direct hit on the compound.


Although many rebel groups proved to be resourceful and ingenious by developing organic weapon systems with available materials. The Nour al-Din al-Zenki Movement also received BGM-71 TOW missile systems from the Obama administration's "Arm and Equip" program, which facilitated anti Assad factions in their fight against the Syrian government.
