On May 28, 2021 officers from the San Francisco Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of Kearny and Commercial, near Portsmouth Square when a white male was harassing and threatening Asian individuals walking by.

In the footage provided, we can see the SFPD officer approaching the suspect in an attempt to detain them. As the female officer begins detaining the suspect, he becomes aggressive, causing a struggle with the officer. Lucky for this female officer, four by-passing citizens pulled the homeless man from the female officer.

The suspect has not yet been identified. As for the female officer. she was transported to a local medical facility for the injuries sustained during the assault. No further information has been released of her condition.
