Footage from Russian troops shows the outcome of an assault on a trench manned by an unkillable Ukrainian machine gunner. The Russian troops expended significant ammunition and hand grenades but couldn't silence the fighting position. Eventually was discovered the the Ukrainians had occupied the trench with a remote-controlled BTR armored personnel carrier's machine gun turret.

It's not clear if the remote controlled turret was actually effective in delivering accurate fire against Russian forces, however, it likely slowed the Russian advance, allowing the Ukrainians to retreat unhindered and unharmed.
