Footage out of Kharkiv shows a Ukrainian-held wood line defensive position being targeted by four well-placed thermobaric bombs, reportedly dropped from a Russian strike jet.

Thermobaric weapons, also known as vacuum bombs and fuel air bombs, work by combusting the air in the vicinity of the target. As shown in the video, the detonations deliver a massively powerful concussive blast. Because the bombs deplete the air around the target, even troops behind heavy cover are still susceptible to life-threatening lung injuries.
