Russian Tank Strapped with GoPro Camera in Mariupol

A reporter embedded with Russian troops attaches a GoPro action camera to the turret of a tank in Mariupol and totally doesn't turn it into a propaganda piece.

For those of you who have been with us for a while, you might remember the now famous footage taken by ANNA news during the Syrian Civil War. It heavily featured Syrian Regime tanks strapped with GoPro cameras waging war against members of the Free Syrian Army in places like Aleppo. You want to know what the primary difference between that combat footage and this quite obvious propaganda cut is though? Let me tell you.

The ANNA news videos were twenty to forty minute long clips of absolute tank carnage. This is a 2 minute clip of a tank moving forwards, and backwards while a drone awkwardly chases after it. In the ANNA news clips, we got loads of smaller clips inside of the longer clips, and it's because they were filmed to document the combat, not produce short propaganda pieces like this.

Either way, thus far, this is the closest thing we've gotten to the ANNA news releases. I suspect the Russians aren't regularly strapping action cameras to their tanks due to the fact that the GoPro's cost more than the tanks, and they don't want to lose one of their precious action cameras when an NLAW inevitably hits it.
