Russian Tank Smashed By ATGM At Close Range

Footage documents a close range engagement and destruction of a Russian T-72 main battle tank by a Ukrainian anti tank guided missile (ATGM) team.

The weapon system is a Ukrainian-developed Stugna-P missile system. The Stugna-P is an organically designed, developed, and produced Ukrainian weapon system. The Stugna-P fires a laser-guided tandem hollow-charge that has a range of up to 4,000 meters and is able to defeat armor up to 31 inches thick.

An interesting characteristic of the Ukrainian Stugna-P is that its command screen is separate from the actual missile launcher, allowing the operator to fire from a more relatively safe location, like the trench shown in this video. Several other ATGM units are often controlled with a command unit that is attached to the launch tube and the operator must be visually exposed due to line-of-site requirements.
