What appears to be a runner for the Russian military gets his entire position obliterated because he chose to use the path of least resistance instead of the treeline right off the shoulder of the road.

When radios are lacking or failing, most modern militaries will still result to using a runner. The purpose of a runner is to convey traffic that would normally be relayed via radio between positions. In this video, we're looking at what appears to be a runner for the Russian military returning to his primary position via the path of least resistance. As a result of his either his laziness or the urgency of the message he was carrying, Ukrainian artillery was able to hammer the position he stopped at.

By now, you would think the Russians understood the need for overhead cover at all times. Apparently that is not entirely obvious to every member of the Russian military.
