A war correspondent embedded with Russian Wagner mercenaries was wounded on camera while reporting in Soledar, Donetsk.

According to reports, Anastasia Yelsukova had arrived in the city with other journalists to document the Russian forces' claimed capture of the city. Apparently, the Soledar was still in contention as she was wounded, on camera, by some sort shrapnel or fragmentation from an unspecified munition.

Reports also indicate that Yelsukova sustained multiple shrapnel injuries as well as a fracture near her left knee. She was evacuated by Wagner fighters to a military support hospital where she underwent surgery and is now in stable condition.

Yelsukova is said to be a Ukrainian native of Luhansk.
