Desperate to conjure up bodies for the Ukrainian meat grinder, the Russian government released a bizarre ad campaign targeting old men to join the ranks.

While the idea to expand the recruiting pool isn't a bad one, the manner in which it's executed has the viewer asking; "Is this serious or...?" A quick summary of the video shows a middle-aged father having to pilfer his teenaged daughter's piggy bank to make ends meet. This is a total bummer to her because she was saving up for a new smart phone.

He makes the decision to rejoin the military and a few months later is welcomed home as a hero by a victory parade. He then bestows upon his daughter the smart phone she greatly desired. The video didn't make it clear if he bought the phone or if he looted it from a Ukrainian electronics store.
