Russian Navy Suspected Of Firing On Civilian Tanker, Crew Injured

The Russian Navy is suspected of firing on a Moldova-flagged merchant chemical tanker in the Black Sea on Feb. 25, 2022, forcing all crew overboard and severely injuring two.


The ship was hit in neutral waters and burst into flames. All ten crew members jumped into the sea and were later rescued by the Ukrainian Navy. The day prior the Panama-flagged bulk carrier Namura Queen was also struck by a suspected Russian missile.
