Russian Mi-8 Transport Helicopters Under Ukrainian Small Arms Fire

Footage reportedly shows Russian Mi-8 transport helicopters assaulting the Kyiv airport under Ukrainian small arms fire on February 24th, 2022.

The footage appears to show a fleet of Russian helicopters just moments before Russian paratroopers infiltrated and captured Gostomel airfield. Despite the Russian paratroopers seizing the airport, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was utterly optimistic throughout the days battle, that Ukraine would regain access and control of the airport.

The Kherson regional government released a statement that 13 civilians had been killed, including two children, and nine Ukrainian soldiers have died during the fighting in the area. Unconfirmed information has indicated that Ukrainian Spetsnaz have since regained control of this area.
