Russian Kamikaze Drone Hits Ukrainian M777 Howitzer

Multiple vide angles show a Russian Lancet loitering munition targeting a US-delivered M777 155mm howitzer while the Ukrainian crew is present and firing the system.

While the damaging effects of these Lancet strikes have been inconsistent, the blast appears to have also cooked off some nearby ammunition or propellent charges which will likely add high heat damage to the howitzer.

We don't know the exact number of M777s that were delivered to Ukraine, but essentially it's a finite number, and these systems are critical for the Ukrainians to keep in operation as they have the capability to fire the M982 Excalibur precision guided rounds, which outrange and outshoot most of the artillery systems Russia is fielding.
