Russia Drops Bunker Buster Bomb On Own City

Due to some sort of malfunction or pilot error, a Russian Su-34 war plane accidentally dropped a BETAB-500 Concrete-Piercing Bomb 500-kilogram (1,100 lb) bunker buster bomb onto a busy traffic intersection in Belgorod, Russia on April 20, 2023.


There is a delay of at least 10 seconds between the impact and the detonation. The powerful blast sent multiple occupied vehicles hurling through the air, yet Russian officials claimed only one person was hospitalized.
