Riot Police in Saint Petersburg Start Arresting Anti-War Protestors

Published Feb. 27, 2022

As anti-war protests in Russia continue to escalate, Russian authorities have moved in a large number of riot police to started making arrests. This footage was recorded in Saint Petersburg earlier today.

As the situation in Ukraine continues to spiral out of control for the Russian troops on the ground, the situation at home for Russia also appears to be starting to do the same. Across the country, anti-war protests by Russian citizens have been going on for several days now. In places like Moscow and Saint Petersburg, we're seeing large numbers of civilians taking to the streets with signs and chanting нет войне, which translates to No to War.

Today, it appears more riot control police have been moved in to quell the protests. In spite of this, more and more Russian citizens are appearing on the streets demanding an end to the situation in Ukraine. At this time, we're not entirely sure how many arrests have been made.
