Police Body Cam Footage Of Shooting That Caused Philadelphia Riots

The city of Philadelphia released graphic police body cam footage and 911 call audio documenting the Oct 27, 2020 officer-involved shooting death of 27-year-old Walter Wallace that led to mass riots and looting.

The actual body cam footage starts approximately six and a half minutes into the video, but we felt it was important to keep the several minutes of 911 call audio leading up to the incident for valuable context.

The police responded to a call about Wallace having a potentially violent mental crisis, and when they arrived, they found him armed with a knife and he refused multiple police commands to drop the weapon.

Following the shooting, the city plunged into riots and looting. Rather than calling for charges against the responding officers, Wallace's family asked the city to reevaluate how they respond to mental health related calls.
