This GoPro-style footage depicts the assault of Russian-held positions by the Ukrainian “Aidar” Battalion in Eastern Ukraine. Viewer discretion is advised.

The video begins with the cameraman and a squadmate jumping into a Russian-held trench, stepping over the remains of a Russian paratrooper. One of the Ukrainians remarks something to the effect of “that soup pot is leaking,” referring to the remains in the helmet.

At 01:23, the cameraman’s squadmate preps a grenade, then tosses a grenade into a Russian dugout at 01:30. At 01:53, the cameraman frags a trench.

At 03:55, what appears to be a Ukrainian grenade detonates and wounds the cameraman, who exclaims audibly. Despite his injury he rolls into a defensible posture and fires at the Russians. His right arm is visibly bloody, with the bright red color indicating an arterial bleed. He tosses his weapon to his partner at 04:08, and is seen being treated at 04:12. Outside sources confirm that that the camera man did recover and is continuing to fight.
