(NSFW) Suspect Fails Quickdraw From Baby Stroller, Gets Killed By Officers

Fremont Police Officer, Jesse Hartman engaged in a close quarter battle with a suspect on August 25th, 2021, after the suspect drew a hidden firearm from a baby stroller and attempted to fire the weapon at responding officers.


Around 6:04 p.m., officers were actively patrolling the Auto Mall Parkway, near Southlake Common, when Officer Hartman located a male subject who matched the description of someone who shot and critically wounded another man 45-minutes prior.


As shown in the dashcam footage, Officer Hartman approached the male subject, who at the time was carrying a baby stroller across the dirt median. Within seconds of approaching the suspect, the suspect began shuffling through the contents resting on the stroller, where he soon retrieved a firearm. As the suspect falls to the ground to retrieve the firearm, Officer Hartman fired multiple shots, fatally striking the suspect.


Despite life saving measures, the suspect who was later identified as 22-year-old Kevin Victor Johnston, succumbed to his injuries. At the time of the incident, the suspect had a $545,000 felony warrant for the following: Car jacking, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Prohibited Person in possession of Firearm, Carrying a loaded firearm in public, Carrying a concealed firearm, Possession of a controlled substance while armed, Felony Evading, and a no-cite warrant for Post Release Community Supervision Violation.


As for the wounded victim, he was a 25-year-old male, who was last known in critical condition. His identity has been withheld from the public. No officers were injured during this incident.
