UPDATE: Since initially publishing this video, we have received additional information including gruesome aftermath video confirming that these were indeed Ukrainian troops being killed. Our best assumption based on the material available suggests that Ukrainian troops were inspecting a defeated Russian IFV when they were approached by a Russian tank. It appears that both parties mistook each other for friendlies, but it was the Russian tank crew that first realized the dismounted troops were Ukrainian and opened fire, killing several.

Unconfirmed video is reported to show a Russian tank approaching and then engaging a squad of Ukrainian troops at extremely close range.

We are still trying to pin down the exact context of this video, considering it was pulled from a pro-Kremlin cope account. That being said, the footage itself appears to have been recorded at some point during the current Ukrainian conflict. Seconds after the initial blast, small arms burst fire can be heard.

Some possible explanations; The dismounted troops thought the tank was captured and under friendly control. It is also possible that the shot was a negligent discharge friendly fire incident.
