A music-backed video titled "What Is Wagner" appeared on "Reverse Side of the Medal," a Russian mercenary social media channel, showing various clips of "Wagner" private military contractors (PMC) carrying out combat operations in places like Syria and Central African Republic.

Russia's use of PMCs, or use of active Spetsnaz under the guise of contractors, allows Russia to conduct military operations off the record with complete deniability of responsibility. For whatever reason no footage of Wagner operations in Ukraine was included in the presentation. The video ends with a mercenary holding a whimsical cheerleader pose while his buddy drags a dead body through the frame in the background. The text reads "That's What The Wagner Group Is."
