Footage from Ukraine's conflict with separatists between 2014 and early 2022 is being spread as a new release on Twitter. The footage shows a separatist fighter stepping on an anti-personnel mine.

About five months ago we re-uploaded this footage during a slow-period of fresh combat footage. According to my hard drive, I originally found this file in 2016, and at that point the video was already a few years old. Today, it's being spread as fresh footage of a Russian soldier stepping on an anti-personnel mine in the Luhansk or Donetsk region. That information is false.

This footage shows a Russian Separatist fighter stepping on a Russian anti-personnel mine. It is believed that this footage was recorded sometime between 2014 and 2016. We're not entirely sure on the exact date that the footage was recorded. That said, any posts showing this video as a brand new or developing event is false.
