(NSFW) Officer Shot Multiple Times After Suspect Engages Point Blank

Recent footage released from the Greenfield Police Department, shows the moments two officers engaged in an intense close quartered shooting with a fleeing suspect. During the engagement, one officer was critically injured, and the suspect was fatally wounded.

On August 22nd, 2021, a Greenfield officer observed a silver-colored sedan speeding through a red light. After turning the cruisers lights on, the officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop multiple times. As backup arrived, the suspect immediately began fleeing the scene, resulting in a short, high-speed chase. In a desperate attempt to stop the vehicle from continuing to speed down small city streets, a third responding officer utilized spike stripes. The officer was successful, however the suspect continued to flee with deflated tires.

Only making it a few more blocks, the high-speed chase ultimately came to a halt, after the suspect sped through another red light and "t-boned" a green Chevy pickup truck. Perusing officers exited their vehicles and surrounded the now disabled vehicle. As shown from multiple perspectives, one officer began commanding the suspect to place his hands where he could see them. A short moment later, the suspect fired multiple shots through the windshield of the wrecked vehicle, striking the officer.

As the wounded officer moved to cover, the secondary officer located the suspect climbing out the rear driver side door. The secondary officer continued commanding the suspect to show his hands, however he again discharged his firearm at the officer. As both officers began unloading their service weapons, the suspect managed to exit the rear driver side door of the disabled vehicle. While exiting the car, the suspect is seen running past the wounded officer, where he then began firing multiple shots, point-blank at the officer.

After the chaos settled, it was later discovered that as the suspect fled the area on foot, he made it only a short distance before collapsing. He was later identified as 31-year-old Tyran Lamb. After medical personnel arrived on the scene, Lamb was pronounced deceased. As for the wounded officer, he was struck multiple times but later survived his injuries. It was later stated, if it were not for the secondary officers on-site medical assistance, the officer would more than likely have succumbed to his injuries.
