The Los Angeles Police Department has released a full critical incident report of a controversial shooting involving an LA resident who was armed with a handgun.

In the critical incident report above, the Los Angeles Police Department lays out a comprehensive after action report of an officer involved shooting that occurred on the night of September 11, 2022. In the video, you'll see the suspect ambush an unarmed person before fleeing on foot. While fleeing, the 35-year-old suspect is stopped by police who see that the individual has a firearm. While fleeing, Liovahni Luna throws his handgun on the ground, and then moves to pick it up as police attempt to apprehend him.

When he picks the handgun back up, the two responding officers discharge their service pistols in order to stop the threat Luna poses to their own personal safety. Once the threat has been stopped, the officers move to provide Luna with lifesaving-aid. Unfortunately, they do not succeed and Luna is pronounced deceased at the scene of the shooting.
