Dashcam footage released from the Illinois State Police (ISP), shows an intense officer involved shooting that occurred after officers pursued a man involved in a double homicide.

On April 2nd, 2022, ISP was looking for 32-year-old Adam Cobb, after he committed a double homicide the same day. Official police reports state Cobb murdered 30-year-old Jamie Joiner, who at the time was leaving a relationship with Cobb, and 34-year-old Jessica Joiner, who was assisting Jamie in moving from Cobb's home in Collinsville.

Later that evening, law enforcement observed Cobb driving down Illinois Route 127. A traffic stop was attempted, but Cobb refused to pull over. A vehicle chase ensued for several miles until Cobb pulled his vehicle over on US route 52.

As shown in the footage, Cobb exited the vehicle, pointed his weapon toward officers and discharged his weapon. In response, officers engaged Cobb several times. Cobb was eventually overtaken by the officers gunfire and was neutralized. Cobb was taken to a hospital for treatment of serious and life-threatening injuries where he died the next day.
