(NSFW) Islamic State Fighter Eliminated by Iraqi Airstrike

Published Jan. 25, 2022

Footage recorded by the Iraqi Aviation Unit captures the moment an Islamic State fighter gets caught out in the open and destroyed by an airstrike. The tide has definitely turned.

Think back to 2014 when you look at this video. In 2014, the Iraqi Military was struggling against the Islamic State, and they were struggling hard. It was almost daily in 2014 that we were hearing about the Islamic State taking control of another city from Iraqi forces. Entire villages and cities were under the control of ISIS, and there was literally nothing the Iraqi government could do at the time except sit back and watch because their troops and air support were insufficient against what the Islamic State could bring to the battlefield.

Compare that to where we are today. The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria sits rotting away in prisons for the most part. The troops they have fielded are reduced to mere insurgents, and those insurgents are running for their lives on a daily basis as the government of Iraq hunts them down from the air and on the ground with their special operations units.

The tables have turned entirely.
