(NSFW) Iraqi Soldier Filming with Selfie Stick Takes Sniper Round

A trio of Iraqi Soldiers sitting on post find themselves in the middle of coordinated sniper ambush. One of the Soldiers in the open takes a glancing round directly to the back while he films with a selfie stick.

This video, while graphic in nature, shows you the exact reason troops on post need to be observant of their surrounding at all time. Distractions can cause death or serious bodily harm when you're in an environment where an enemy shooter could kill you on a moment's notice. Unfortunately for these Iraqi Soldiers, they had to learn the lesson in blood, as they were caught goofing around on their post and a group of enemy snipers made them pay for their inattentiveness to their surroundings.

Three coordinated shots come in on these guys while they're goofing off with their selfie stick. One catches a grazing round in the back which drops him prone. A second shot impacts with another one in the hip, dropping him as well. The third Soldier ducks out of the way just as the third round comes in. Had he not reacted as fast as he did, there's a very solid chance that round could have taken off the top of his head.

To all our active duty service members who are currently operating in a peace time environment, now is the time to learn this lesson. When you're on post, you need to be on post. Not filming TikTok and Snapchat videos. Not goofing off with your buddies and smoking and joking. It takes exactly zero seconds for a sniper to crack off a shot at you and end your life. If these guys had been more attentive of their sectors of fire, they may have caught these guys moving into position to take shots at them. The situation would have been entirely different had that been the case.

Fortunately, from the looks of things in this video at least, all three of these Iraqi Soldiers could have and very much should have survived their wounds. The only questionable hit was the guy who was hit in the hip. That round has the potential to be deadly if the rounds ricocheted through any key parts of his body.
