This footage is purported to be from an operation launched earlier today (23 June, 2024) in the Salah Al Din province by Iraqi SOF elements. Seven militants, including one high value target, were killed, along with several caches destroyed. Viewer discretion is advised.

In a reversal of fortunes similar to the Taliban enduring COIN warfare in Afghanistan, it may be difficult to picture the Iraqi military having a thriving Special Operations contingent at all, let alone them literally snatching ISIS bodies out of caves. But here we are, and Iraq’s guys seem to be doing a good job of stomping ISIS in Salah Al Din. At least, I’d call 7-0 a good day. The operation having been freshly completed, details are scant, but will be updated as available.
