The Ukrainians search each fallen Russian soldier and various translations of the incident suggest they are trying to identify if the dead troops are Kadyrovites, the pro-Moscow Chechen militia that was activated to assist Russian conventional troops in the invasion of Ukraine.

The Ukrainian troops in the video are likely confused by the mixed uniforms, some bearing the ATACS camo pattern as well as some wearing high-cut FAST helmets. The actual unity identity of the casualties isn't known by us.
