Ring doorbell camera footage shows a July 31, 2022 incident in which a man shot and killed his daughter's ex-boyfriend as the ex-boyfriend smashed open their door after repeatedly being told to leave.

According to the reports, 22-year-old James Douglas Rayl followed his ex-girlfriend, Allyson Duckro, and her mother back to their home and attempted to get inside the house. Mitchell Duckro, Allyson's father, repeatedly told Rayl to leave and also warned him that he had a gun. Rayl ignored their requests and eventually smashed in the door.

At that point, the father fired multiple shots, hitting Rayl who then stumbled out onto the driveway and died. Grand jurors voted 8 to 1 to not file an indictment against Mitchell Duckro, seeing a clear case of self defense.
