A series of recent Russian Lancet loitering munition strikes targeting Ukraine's American-made M777 155mm howitzers shows the dire need for a Ukrainian defense against the kamikaze drones.

While equipment losses are not uncommon in this war, the M777 is a critical weapon system in the Ukrainian arsenal as it fires the precision-guided M982 Excalibur round. The M777 howitzers are in finite supply and they must be protected if Ukraine is going to keep the upper hand in the artillery game.
