Members of the First Farmer's Brigade of Ukraine Work to Save Crops

Ukrainian farmers in the Nikolaev region work to quell fires caused by artillery fire in their fields. While the internet is quick to accuse the Russians for this specific video, no evidence of that has been provided.

Without getting into the politics of the situation, one of the unfortunate realities of the war in Ukraine is that many people in many countries are already going to or will be soon suffering from a famine. When you hear the word's "Global Food Shortage," that doesn't mean that you personally need to go rush to Ready Hour and buy thousands of pounds of food storage for yourself, it does mean that millions of people in under developed nations are going to be starving.

For the individual Ukrainian farmer responsible for exporting a good portion of the wheat and other food stuffs that supply a good chunk of those people in developing nations with food, it looks like this. Running out into fields after the artillery has stopped to put out fires to salvage as much of the crop as possible.

For Nigeria, Ethiopia, Somalia, Kenya, and Yemen, it looks like an absolute catastrophe. Children with bloated bellies starving to death in front of their parents while they watch as their kids chew on their own fingers in an attempt to end the hunger.

For you, it looks like a case of not really your problem, because the gas station is still well stocked with hot dogs and potato chips.
