Footage from 1993 shows a Marine Cobra unloading a solid thirty-second long burst of cannon fire into a Somali militia position to fully suppress it.

Sorry for the quality on this one gents. Unfortunately, in 1993, cameras weren't exactly recording and capturing things in 4K. As a result, what we have here is VHS quality footage of a Marine Cobra putting in work against militia positions in Somalia.

If you're at all familiar with the conflict that happened in Somalia, here's a bit of background that goes with this footage. It was recorded in January of 1993. This was around the peak of the combat in the city of Mogadishu for the United States Marine Corps. Gen. Mohammed Farah Aidid was in firm control of the city at the time, and the Marines had landed to try and pacify the Warlord's hold.

About 9 months after this incident is when Operation Gothic Serpent would occur, which saw two U.S. Army Blackhawks being shot down inside of the city, and Task Force Ranger being decisively engaged by much of the entire city of Mogadishu.
