Major Dam Blown Up In Ukraine, Thousands At Risk

A major hydroelectric dam in Ukraine's Kherson region was blown wide open, putting at ask tens of thousands of people that live down stream from the incident.

The Nova Kakhovka dam, which straddles the Dnipro River, was the target of sabotage, but by which entity, isn't currently known. The Russians, who were technically in control of the area in which the dam sits, are blaming the Ukrainians. Meanwhile, the Ukrainians are blaming the Russians for destroying the dam to foil counteroffensive plans.

It is being reported by Ukrainian publications that Russian artillery targeted those attempting to evacuate from the flooded areas, and that two Kherson police officers were wounded by shrapnel from Russian shelling.
