Israeli civilians can be seen maneuvering to shelters on the streets of Ashkelon as the Iron Dome works to intercept rockets fired by Palestinian forces directly into the city.

Following this event, and several other rocket intercepts, the Israeli Defense Force dispatched several fighter jets to carry out airstrikes on the origin point for the rocket attacks. According to the Israeli Defense Force, they destroyed two Hamas run facilities in Gaza. One of the two targets was an underground rocket-manufacturing plant.
