Body camera and CCTV footage released by the Weber County Sheriff's Office, shows the moments leading up to a fatal deputy involved shooting after an intoxicated male subject pointed a firearm at responding law enforcement officers.

On January 4th, 2022, dispatch received multiple 9-1-1 calls from a subdivision located near 3600 South and 5250 West of a male subject, identified as 41-year-old Adam Winters, who was armed with a handgun and threatening to kill his wife. As shown from the multi-perspective footage, deputies arrived in the area and continued commanding Mr. Winters to drop the firearm; however he refused to comply with authorities.

As Mr. Winters moved across the front yard, he provoked the deputy involved shooting after raising his firearm and discharging a round toward deputies. In response, deputies returned fire and struck Mr. Winters, fatally injuring him. No deputies or other individuals were injured during this incident.
