Insurgents Miraculously Walk Out Of Blast Crater Following Missile Strike

We don't have much context to go on for this seemingly inexplicable video clip that shows a group of a half dozen militants get nearly bullseyed by some sort of precision munition, but somehow walking away from ground zero of their own accord.

Again, without the context we can only speculate as to why they survived. One explanation could be that the munition was some sort of anti tank warhead, designed to pierce thick armor and not have much for anti personnel fragmentation in its construction. We've seen this often in ATGM vs. infantry videos where all but the directly hit targets escape.

Another explanation could be that terrain we are unable to make out in the thermal relay created some sort of barrier between themselves and the actual blast. An optical illusion may make it seem like the targets were directly impacted when they were actually outside of the kill radius.

Finally, it's possible that the munition was a dud. It first appears there is a blast, but the air immediately clears with no smoke whatsoever. What we think is a blast may have just been debris of the failed warhead being thrown in all directions after smashing into the rocky hillside with incredible energy.
