IAF Fighters Sortie from Hatzerim Airbase

This IAF-provided clip depicts fighter planes taking off to sortie from Hatzerim Airbase, which is in the Negev desert near Beersheba. The F-15I (designated "Ra'am" or "Thunder") or F-15 IA (Israel Advanced) is shown, with the F-15IA being the Israeli version the F-15EX. The F-15 has a distinctive service history in Israel, having been used in Operation Opera to destroy Iran's nuclear capability in 1981. Also shown is the Israeli variant of the F-16 (designated "Soufa" or "Storm").
