Houthi Kamikaze Drone Attack Filmed During Yemeni Army Ceremony

Video from Jan. 10, 2019, shows a Houthi rebel Kamikaze drone attack against the Yemeni Army during a military ceremony at the al Anad base near the port city of Aden.

Although the blast doesn't appear very significant compared to something you would see in a Hollywood film, the strike killed six people attending the ceremony, including the head of Yemeni Intelligence, and wounded at least 25 military personnel, including a number of senior officers from the Yemeni Army, the country's chief of staff, and a high-ranking government official.

The drone being used was reportedly a Qasef-2K, a variant of the Iranian Ababil drone repurposed as a loiter munition. The attack drone is designed to explode 20 meters above the target, directing deadly fragmentation down to exposed personnel.
