The Guardian – Gunbox CODE: FUNKERGIFT for a free skin with your Gunbox

A few years back, Larry Vickers took the original Gunbox out for a torture test. We’re not here to torture it today, rather, showcase the newest model, ‘The Guardian’ from our Partner. Partners like The Gunbox have been instrumental in supporting Funker530 get our app off the ground and keep the community alive. We’ll have a few of these showcases over time to bring attention to some of their products and services that you might be interested in.

The Guardian is a firearm storage option that you don’t have to leave hidden in a gun room, isn’t bulky, and sure don’t look bad, either. I’m going to cover 5 key elements of the Guardian for you, starting with what it is, and what it isn’t.

Storage

The Guardian is designed as lockable, access-controlled gun storage in plain sight. It’s not designed, nor should it be considered as a safe. It’s here to control access to your firearm in the home and on the move and should really be considered a lockable container to keep your handgun and valuables close. It keeps my kids and prying hands away from my firearm when it isn’t on my person.

It’s very sturdy, at 4mm of cast aluminum, and like I mentioned, Larry Vickers put this thing through a torture test. It passed all its tests without ever popping open. When it is time to open it, though, that’s where things get fun.

Multi-Access

There are lots of ways to get into the Guardian. Right out of the gate, the keypad stands out. A 5–10-digit code is all you need to bust out your gat when you need it. You’ve also got the options of a reliable swipe fingerprint, an RFID keychain, and access cards right out of the box. Even still, if you’re into having more ways to access your smoke wagon, they’ve got additional options for wrist bands, stickers, and even an RFID-enabled ring. With all these options, it’s probably high time we talk about the technology in this thing.

Tech

Technology is where the Guardian really shines. Obviously, we’ve already covered the RFID, but the Guardian also ships ready for Mobile Alerts and firmware updates via wi-fi. When eventually enabled, your Guardian will alert you that it’s moving or has moved right to your phone. It has USB passthrough to charge your devices, and a battery life of approximately 3 months if unplugged for once-daily usage. If, for some reason, you can't get into your Guardian, you can contact their support team and they'll help you out. There’s also a neat feature to trick your kids with; ‘hey, go grab that box’, where it will sound the most annoying alarm you’ve ever heard if it’s moved. For those of us technically inclined, it’s awesome. Now that we’ve quickly covered a lot of the tech, lets talk about some size specifics.

Size

She THICC. A full-size Kimber Custom TLE II fits, right next to 2 additional magazines, my headphones, some snacks, and the hopes and dreams of nerdy kids I destroy on the Tarkov battlefield. It fits my Shadow Systems MR920 perfectly, and just about any duty-sized handgun. Size matters, and this thing is a dump truck. That’s important to understand because The Guardian is also mobile.

Mobility

If you need to make moves, the Guardian can come with you. As mentioned, the onboard battery lasts for up to 3 months with once-daily use. If you intend to put one in your truck, it’s got a cable anchor for you to increase the security of your stuff. Sure, with enough time and energy, someone could take it. That said, with enough time and energy just about anything can be accomplished.

The Guardian is an excellent and modern option for a gun container you can move around the house and keep your freedom-shovel out of prying hands. It looks good, has some great technology now, and even more in the future.
